Abstrak

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the
application of the cooperative learning model of the learning
together type in improving the critical thinking skills of Class
VIII students of UPTD SMP Negeri 4 Sinjai. This type of
research is an experimental research with a quasi-experimental
design with a nonequivalent control group design, the
population in this study were all class VIII of SMP Negeri 4
Sinjai and the sample in this study consisted of two classes of
population, namely class VIII A and VIII B, where VIII A
consisted of 26 students as the experimental class and class
VIII B consisted of 26 students as the control class. The
sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling. The
results of the study based on the analysis and results of the
paired sample t-test obtained the sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000. The
significance value obtained is smaller than 0.05 or 0.000
<0.05. Because in the test rule, if the value of sig.(2-tailed) <
0.05 then Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it can be
concluded that Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, in other
words the application of the cooperative learning model type
learning together is effective in improving the critical thinking
skills of class VIII UPTD SMP Negeri 4 Sinjai
